Soundbaths By NTHNL

I began creating healing music in 2019 while learning to make music through code, starting with simple collections of tones. I would spend hours editing electronically generated soundscapes, often finding myself feeling blissed out and deeply relaxed. In 2020, I decided to bring more of my musical practice into the process, and the Tranquility Studies series was born—using binaural beats and field recordings to relax the mind, while my soloistic playing on wind instruments provided the guidance to go on deep internal journeys.

The frequencies I use in my backing tracks target low Alpha and high Theta brainwaves (8–10 Hz), the frequencies of deep relaxation, introspection, and spiritual flow states—perfect for self-discovery and internal travel.

This is a melodically guided, musically informed spiritual practice created with high intentionality—not a cookie-cutter bowl-and-gong experience.

The Harmonic Mindfulness Soundbath

The Harmonic Mindfulness Soundbath is an hour-long deep listening and meditation experience that invites profound emotional journeying and healing through sound.

We begin with a short meditation on a spiritual text—typically from the Buddhist tradition, but open to wisdom from anywhere—and a grounding into the sounds both within the room and within ourselves.

An original, pre-recorded soundscape of electronically generated binaural beats and field recordings of peaceful natural environments is then played to ease the mind into a relaxed, open state. Over this ambient foundation, I play a collection of wind instruments, gently guiding listeners into deeper states of awareness and reflection.

This practice is designed to soothe, center, and open—supporting each person in their own unique journey inward.

Typically I’ll play 4-10 instruments throughout the course of a Soundhealing

Flutes, saxophone, synthesizers, healing bowls, Melodicas, harmonicas and many others…
